My name is Cassie Hurles, my husband & I just purchased Whiskey Mountain in July 2016.  I have always lived in Texas (Dallas & Houston Areas) and all my summers were spent at the Frio River area.  I met my husband, Darren (Daz) in 2001 while he was working here in the states.  He moved here from Scotland in 2001.  We then had our son, Connor in February 2004 and our daughter, Isla in May 2008.  The first time I took my husband to the Frio River he fell in love and we kept the family tradition going with our kids, making it a must every year.  Then we moved to the beautiful Texas Hill Country in April 2015 & bought Whiskey Mountain Inn.  We are looking forward to this new adventure.

If you are wondering how we got our name Whiskey Mountain….Many years ago during the prohibition times, a whiskey distillery was developed in a cave in the mountain behind our property.  The Bootleggers were caught selling their production and the local population decided to call this “area” Whiskey Mountain.

The main home was built in 1869 and is a 1 ½ story German farmhouse with a lot of history and tales!  The stories written tell of families full of love with dances in the front rooms and horses tied up to the front cypress tree posts that hold up the 50 foot front porch!
